This campground was awesome and was one of our favorites we’ve stayed in. Very small and quiet, with no cell service, as others have mentioned - a great place to unplug. The campground was very clean, and all of the sites had spacious, level tent pads. We stayed in site 004 and were happy with how private it was, with access to the creek directly from the site. We visited in April 2022 and the road to the campground was hardly a 4WD road, just packed gravel with a few potholes particularly near the bridges, but not extreme at all. 2WD cars would probably do fine. Highly recommend this campground and can’t wait to go back!

Google said this was a short cut, as the crow flies maybe. But it sure was fun! You need a 4x4 to go up this back road. Getting to the camp ground was quite an adventure. Take your time, go slow and enjoy the view.

Clean, very well maintained campground. Not large which made it nice especially at night so you didn’t hear your neighbors where we stayed. Great access to trails on site, a couple of choices on difficulty. No cell service so great way to disconnect. Access road is gravel so be prepared, our Jeep had no issues but a car would be bumpy for sure. This was our first trip there and we will definitely be back!

It starts as paved at the intersection of US 70, but once you pass the residential part, and enter the National Park, it is gravel.
No, just pit toilets and drinking water. But, that said, it is a beautiful little campground along a large creek, very quiet and remote. We love camping there regularly.
Yes you have to pay on line don't like how it's a pain in the butt to do .but it's a beautiful place and dogs are welcome no Wifi and phones don't work butt if you want to break away it's great ..
There are not phones up there but if you want to camp go to web site ...not cel phone service either...just the beautiful peace of nature. ..
I camped here Friday night of Memorial Day weekend, no reservation, and there were still 3 empty sites. The $10 per night is the same whether you reserve or not.
Yes there are about 5 up above the camping area with the bathrooms ...keep all food put up ...there are bears up there...beautiful and peaceful. .
The town of Old Fort is dry. You need to go to Marion or Black Mtn. for alcohol. Try River Breeze, or Turtle Island camping if you do want to drink.
It's not busy in nov.it's a little ways up in there before you get to the camping sites ...it's a beautiful place you go online to pay for it ..but you should enjoy it
Me and my wife have the mowing contract there, all camp sites are accessible by 2wd car, and are less than 15 yards walk from there.
