I would imagine it is going to be on the paved portion of the parking, but someone handling the event parking will direct you when you arrive.
Depends on the function. Wouldnt for a concert or college fair. Lots of government functions there too
My husband and I used to go to dances at the Coliseum but haven't gone to them for many years. So, can't help with your question. The previous answer is a good one.

It's more of a ballroom type of venue. Like big bands and a huge beautiful dance floor
