Let me just get right into it. Vanhunks Sarasota, FL is a special place for me. Could be good timing or good feels but let me tell you! Great friendly people / customer service, great quality product and great price. Let me give you a visual here. The People: Walking in, as soon as someone is avail your greeted with a smile (no way right). No pushy sales feel at all. You can ask whatever yak questions you want, they will find the answer. Knowledgeable/ experienced crew here. From: how do I secure this on my car, what do you think about tandems?, me with my daughter or me by myself, fishing from yak, gear, etc... When you walk into the show room there are all sorts of yaks and boards nicely displayed. Can be a little intimidating but they will help you narrow it down for your needs/wants. I've been in Sarasota for 20 + years and a big saltwater fisherman fanatic, hitting spots from Tampa thru Punta Gorda fishing from land, this is a big game changer for me. I was shopping and looking for something that wont break the bank (for those of you that have been shopping you know a nice fishing kayak price is around 2500$ - 5000$+, well, the ones i've been looking at.), quality, tandem, fishing, standing, peddle/ paddle, upgradable (motor, accessories, etc..). A good friend saw online an Orca 13 (which I went to look at) but they showed me a Sauger 12 foot tandem, for the price and hit all that I was looking for in a kayak, I was sold. You can buy it with just paddles at first and upgrade later. Love it, comfortably fits me and my 11yr old and it puts me on some spots I could not reach before. Upgradable and set up nice. I've been working out the kinks on how I want it set up but it works and works great. I upped for the fin drive which is very nice. Loving it! Been out about every weekend since I got it. I'm 5'9" 230 lbs (this is our little secret) I stand comfortably from the back to paddle board style and fish. Here is the "its not always sunshine and rainbow part". Speaking of other kinks, the bad ones, that accidentals and I've done. I also had some damages to Yak and Fin drive, I know already. Which they are willing and have capabilities to take a look/care of as well. Dropped it off with them, They took a look. Fin was loose, they fixed it, tightened up loose nut internally. Also there was a latch upgrade that I was aware of, they took care of it, replaced and upgraded. I accidentally poked a hole in it, they repaired it. They do it all, one stop shop. In as little to no cost at all. Which I'm very grateful and thankful for. In closing. I get compliments and questions about my kayak all the time. I always tell them to stop by the Vanhunks shop at University and 301 (google it). Talk to the crew and take a look you might find something that fits or like there. Good luck to you shoppers out there and have fun to you yak'er (if that's even a word) out there! Peace, love and happiness! Z
