Call bell going off for almost an hour. No help. No one in sight to ask for help either.

Totally What a disappointment to be the brian center of southpoint. What I experienced from a visit to see a loved one. The staff/patient ratio is not balanced. My loved one had to lay there for hours before a change of undergarments. Unfortunate for anyone who can't get theirself to a bedside toilet. No fresh water in a container only able to get it upon request. One night pressed the call button and no response for hours. Totally unacceptable. Strong urine odor in halls. Some, (not all) employees were rude display attitude of just here for my paycheck.

It's pretty and fancy but that's about it. I'll update if anything changes. Right now I'm hating it. Very understaffed. No one seems to be able to answer questions. Impossible to get someone on the phone. My dad has become unable to answer the phone himself and sometimes it takes over 24 hours to reach someone to see if he's OK. I just feel like my family is getting the run around by this place and I'm very worried for my dad. They don't listen to the people who know the patient best.

Awful Physical Therapy Department! The PT Department needs an overhaul either in the way it is operated or its staff. My father went into rehab at the Brian Center in December 2021 to strengthen his walking and came out 6 weeks later in worse shape. I visited on a Saturday, continually checked on him in rehab and not once during the entire hour, was he walking. What?! His legs gave out 7 times during his first two weeks home so the aides called the Rescue Squad to lift him; soon we rented a lift machine to get him off the floor. Ironically by his fourth week at home, he was able to walk farther and stand longer because we had him do exercises every day. The Brian Center is a waste of time and money! The VA should pull their contract from here immediately.

How are general pharmaceutical needs addressed? Is there an in-house pharmacy or access to a pharmacist?

Brian Center Southpoint | Aug 19, 2022

There is access to a supply of medication for first dosing at the center that is available while new medication orders are communicated with the off-site pharmacy. Recurring prescriptions are filled by the off-site pharmacy for residents. Consultant pharmacists review each resident's medication list on admission and monthly thereafter to monitor each resident’s individual medication regimen and make recommendations to the physician.
