*updated. Since my previous review, I have had a much better experience with Piedmont. They worked to get the problem fixed as quick as they could once they were able to. I would still recommend a better phone system to deal with disasters that have affected a lot of the local community. Communication is key. I unfortunately have not had the same customer service experience as some of the more positive reviews have claimed. I understand a storm has caused a lot of other power outages around my home, however your website claims I can speak with a member representative 24 hours a day. I have been trying to reach them for about 15 hours now and have not spoken to anyone. Offer a call back service or something. A recorded message just telling you to keep trying and then hanging up on you is frustrating. I’ve been a member for 2 weeks and I’m not impressed. Having just left Duke when I moved, I’m frustrated this is my only option for my home. Duke was extremely helpful and kept you updated. A tree fell on the power line to my house and now I have an exposed line laying in the yard next to my porch. Having someone I can speak to to just ensure my own safety would be nice. Update: I received a call. They answered my questions but weren’t able to provide a time frame

Hey Karen! Please call 800.222.3107 to speak with a member services representative to assist with creating a new account.
Winter time of day hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday for on peak. All other times, weekends and holidays are off peak. You will pay less during these off peak hours! Winter hours begin in October on the first Sunday after the second Saturday of the month. Winter hours end at the end of the day on the second Saturday in April each year.
No adjusted rates but we have programs such as Helping Hands that we open up that you can apply for. You simply go to the SSO in your county and tell them you'd like to apply for Piedmont Helping Hands funds.
We will have your power restored as soon as we safely can but I can not presently estimate when your specific time or day. It depends on the reason for why your power is off and if the source of the break is at the substation, trunk line, or tap line.
Hi Mike! We are doing a conversion job on Highland Farm Road which is an upgrade of our existing structures. We are replacing the conductor as well as pole to ensure safe, reliable service to our members in this area. Thank you for reaching out!
During the summer, load control can run from 1-6 p.m. and during the winter from 6-10 a.m.
Jeanette, good question! Most of our meters are read electronically through our office. You can receive daily or even hourly reads through our website or the SmartHub app on your phone or you can even have a daily alert sent to you if you want. In a few cases we do still have to send someone out to read the meter. Also, if the meter needs to be serviced or replaced one of our employees will come out and take care of it. Please let us know if you need any additional information!
It depends on your credit. I had none so they wanted $400. The other option is pay as you use it. That is what I did. Every few days or once a week I would deposit money online. If you get a balance though even like a dollar yes 1 dollar they will turn your power off that day
10 dollars you pay every no th
