We ordered the chinchikurin and the GOAM okonimiyaki. The taste was amazing, and since it was our first time we went with the traditional noodles, which was the way to go. The taste was great. It was quite expensive (27 and 28 with tip), but it could easily last two meals.

Our hungry group of 11 stumbled into Chinchikurin somewhat randomly last week and I'm very glad we did. Everyone ordered different things, ranging from the OKONOMIYAKI to Tan Tan Men and all were pleased. I ordered the Hiroshima Tsukemen - I've never had this Japanese dish before. If it's a hot day and you are craving fresh veggies and something more on the light side, and you like to control the amount of sauce on your food, this is the dish for you. My veggies were fresh and crispy, the meat was delish, and the noodles perfectly al dente - with that enjoyable bounciness/give when you bite. My dipping sauce was well balanced and not overwhelmingly savory. Yummy! I'll be looking for this dish in other Japanese places in the future! Our positive dining experience was heightened even more by our courteous, professional, and charming server Chris, who aptly advised us as we made our meal choices - we later found out he was an experienced cook himself who was very knowledgeable about much of the LA restaurant scene! PS If you wander towards the back of the restaurant you'll find signatures of famous Japanese people on the walls!

My first time trying okonomiyaki so take this review with a grain of salt. Objectively the food and dining experience was good - we sat by the bar for a front row seat of the chefs making the dishes, and the waiters were incredibly friendly (service was a little on the slower side, but understandable given how busy they were!). Personally the okonomiyaki was not my favorite - I ordered the seafood one and the crispy noodles were fun but the flavor profile was mostly salty with no acid/spice to balance it out, and it was overall a heavy meal. So it’s not my favorite dish, but from what I could tell it’s good if you like okonomiyaki!

The price of the regular okonomiyaki is about $11, but it is substantial. Side dishes are available as mentioned above.
