Who doesn't love a train ride? Great place to visit, especially if you have a little one. Decently priced, free roaming throughout the carts, and a conductor full of history! The kiddo was allowed to hang out at the back of the caboose for a brand new experience. At the halfway point, they stopped and allowed passengers to get off and explore the local fishing/swimming hole. Bring some snacks! We did the two-hour trip, but they do have a four-hour one, and the conductor also said they are working on reopening a connection to make six-hour trip available.

Kids had a lot of fun riding the train. The engineers and conductor were all very personable, happy to talk to us even when not on the train. Very approachable. We camped walking distance from the train.

Took a ride on the Durbin Rocket yesterday and had a very nice time. Beautiful scenery and nostalgic coal fired steam engine train ride. I didn't know, but you can rent the special caboose (which they take to the end of the line and leave on a spur along the river for a many nights as you want to rent it for).

This is a fun scenic train ride in the mountains of West Virginia. It's a coal fired engine experience that everyone needs to do at least once. I wish it had another car on the train as it was kind of crowded when I ran on it. Also, there was no narration or learning on the trip. Having someone give you the history of the area would have made it better.
