I see nothing wrong with the age as long as they have their life jacket on at all times and if youre using a guide. I have a 4 year old as well and we were just talking about going rafting with her. There I maybe 1 bad spot where its pretty rapidy but you can get out and walk around with the 4 year old. Hope I helped some.
