Very cool place to stay on the coast regardless of the time of the year. But good luck trying to find a spot. Sometimes you might get lucky because people reserve a year in advance and never show up you may pull up with all your gear and pull right into the spot who knows. Myself and a family member have been eyeing that spot for the last couple years.

Stunning views from the premium sites that face the water, has toilets/sinks but showers are 4m away at Bodega dunes so plan for that, book it if you can!

Our first camping experience as we wanted to test out sleeping on our car air mattress and also be on the beach but did not want to rough it out too much. We booked WB10 premium campsite ($50) for one nite. The site was perfect right next to the beach. Lots of privacy the way the bushes and trees were positioned. We could watch sunset from our picnic table. Site came with a fire ring for fire (the camp host sells firewood at $8 a box of 8 logs). There was a ‘wooden box’ with lock for our food (so animals could not get into them) and a picnic table. Within short walk, there is a tap and clean restrooms with hot and cold water, flushable toilets. No shower. The campsites were fully booked. We were able to watch sunset, had a full moon and listen to the waves crashing on the beach. A beautiful experience.

Prime ocean views from the overlook. There is no parking at the overlook half circle drive through. Although there is one picnic table where you can sit down. Good luck getting that table during the Summer. Lol. It is a wonderful place to walk around, enjoy views and take pictures. Or just sit in your vehicle and enjoy the view. Winter is the easiest time to visit the park. Less people and easier to park and enjoy viewing.

The best place to go
You are allowed to have up to 8 people per campsite, and children/babies are included in the count.
Most likely not. The reservations are booked way in advanced, unless you get lucky and someone cancels.
No, only our Camp Host has hook ups. However I did see that was in the works and has been put out to bid.
No since covid it's reservation only.
Yes, you need a fishing license though.
You pay a fee to use the day use area.
You can find Showers at Doran's beach, west side campgrnd, and bodega dunes cmpgrnd.. none at writes beach..
YES, tents are allowed. We just got back from camping a week ago. It costs us 35dollars a night.
There aren't any free campsites there. Even day parking there's a charge of about $8
When the camp host is there , daytime.
On Reserve California's website, where it asks City or Park name, you enter Sonoma Coast State Park, then it will list both campgrounds within the park, Bodega Dunes and Wright's Beach. You can also call them at 800 444 PARK.
I'm sorry there are no hookups at Wrights Beach totally self-contained
They have spots that fit up to a 29ft trailer. #13, 16 and 23-26.
California State Parks. Wright's Beach is under Sonoma Coast State Park. Also. Wright's Beach only has 27 sites. Sites are small. Not recommended for motorhomes. No room. Also no showers. Bodega Dunes has showers.
Hi, we stayed there last week and it was completely full but we were able to stay at the Overflow which was $35 a night. I recommend making reservations months ahead, but an absolutely fantastic place to stay.
Its open all year long.
There's a phone number on the website but it is the main office for Sonoma Coast not Wright's beach and they were no help the last time I called. I have only ever seen all the 1st come spots taken up on holiday weekends.
You can show up but I believe this is a very very popular campground. Close to Bodega Bay and campgrounds are right on the beach. In the summer every spot will be reserved
