The beer is great. Location is great, especially with outdoor seating right downtown, with views across the lake to the mountains. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is not the reason to come here, though; it's okay, but could be more fresh and have better preparation.

I have been going to this place for over 30 years while skiing at Whiteface. I look forward to coming here as much as the mountain itself, as part of the ski tradition. We are going to be in Lake Placid again this week, and am just as excited to eat here, as we are to ski. Warm cozy atmosphere, and just a great vibe at the end of the day. I always order the clam chowder and a great piece of steak... My version of Surf and Turf :) Can't wait...

The food here is typical bar food. My burger was cooked they way I asked. My wife asked for well done and it was pretty much raw. The French onion soup was delicious. All in all food was good but staff doesn't seem to be as friendly as a restaurant staff should be. I would eat here again. Located right on main St in town. Parking can be tough.

The place was great the first time I was ever here, then you guys got a little rocky for a while.(not entirely your guys' fault, as I understand it the owner passed away and there was a difficult period) but you guys surely made one hell of …Thank you Matthew. The restaurant has been family run for nearly 40 years and we're happy that even through the pandemic and now inflation our chef and staff are able to find ways to bring many of the favorites back. And our new head brewer is doing a great job on that stout! We really appreciate your business and your review!
