Nice variety but very pricey. Went up the rode and bought 9 plants for less than what I paid for one plant there. The plants I got for the better price looks as good as the ones I bought from Night Crawlers. We grow all of our plants here and we feel that we charge a fair price. Thank you.

NightCrawler seems nothing like it was in past years. They still offer a large variety of garden veggies, but the flowers are limited. Plenty of potted flowering arrangments, but quite pricy. …Hi Patti, I am sorry that you were disappointed. I'd like to respond to your observations. Yes we have a fantastic selection of vegetables, herbs, and natives but the flowers diversity has diminished a bit. For this year and last we decided not to bring in plants that weren't grown by us. We can not spare the labor to mess with them. That is why we have no bedding annuals. We don't grow them, they are commodity crops at this point. You can get them at any hardware, box store, or grocery. We may carry them in the future but I really like selling only plants grown by us. Not very many places can say that. We can. More impressive is that we grow over 1,000 species and cultivars (it's been very busy and some are gone for the season). We do still grow Proven Winners and other unique flowers, I think that if you compare our prices to others of comparable quality and cultivars you will find that we are very competitive. You are also correct that the retail is self serve and self checkout on weekdays. This is clearly marked with signage, is posted frequently on Facebook and is on our answering machine. Last spring half of our staff left because of the pandemic. Along with that we have had a huge increase in demand. We have hired some new staff and are keeping up fairly well. We built greenhouse 7 over the winter and we have expanded our production quite a bit. We wholesale throughout central Ohio and are cranking out herbs, vegetables, unique annuals, perennials and native plants. Hundreds of thousands of plants. We work hard and grow a quality product. We are good this year and will be good next year.

This was my first year purchasing from Nightcrawler and I did so because I could shop outdoors during COVID. Fast forward 3 months and my garden is amazing. The quality of the plants and the selection of the best varieties made all the difference. My garden is the envy of my extended family for it’s flavor and the way the plants are thriving! Will never shop another greenhouse as long as Nightcrawler is open!

We are open now, check Facebook for our hours. We will be closed Easter Sunday.

Hello. I raise butterflies and have noticed your tags in the fennel, rue, etc at my local nursery (Oakland). Are your plants treated at any point with neonicotinoids? Carolyn Turner Columbus

Sorry, I can’t figure out how to answer this as NightCrawler Gardens. I’m the owner and I can assure you that your plants are completely safe for butterflies. We rarely use any pesticides and when we do they are usually organic. Our primary pest control is with beneficial insects. We actually had 7 black swallowtail larvae on the dill in a greenhouse a week or so ago. There are a few pictures of them on our Facebook page. Oakland should still have several species of Asclepius that we grow for your monarchs.
