They foisted a merger upon current clients that required not only a change in location (which is obviously important when deciding to whom you intrust care) and where a one-year contract was required. New location, completely new people, very little continuation of care. No good KCDPC. At the end of the day they aren't any different than other healthcare providers.

My family of 4 have been patients at KCDPC for two years. We are always well cared for whether I call in for reminders on best practices for my 7mo’s upper respiratory infection or when I need a quick appointment b/c my 5yo is favoring his wrist after a scooter fall. The nursing staff is always warm and friendly over the phone and in person. Conversations and appointments never feel rushed. In the last month or so we’ve had appointments with Nohemi, NP, and have felt just as well cared for in those appointments as we have with Dr. Edwards. I love all the above and that KCDPC is always open about what is happening at the clinic through regular communications by email. My uninsured family currently receives better healthcare with KCDPC than we ever did when we actually had health insurance making calling the doctor one less thing for this mom and wife to worry about.

This place doesn’t have a Doctor in the clinic most of the time. I specifically asked to pay for a Dr. visit- A Nurse Practitioner shows up and says they don’t have a Dr. there but she could do everything a Dr. can. And if she can’t she could call the Dr. if she had any questions. I like NP’s.they are sometimes better than Dr.s, but they should display that a NP is going to see you most of the time not a Dr. Plus the Dr. that was in the Clinic` is now on maternity leave. I’m happy for her, but they should have another Dr. fill in until she returns.

Dr. Short and his staff are very great to work with! Highly recommended!

Hi Omega! We are not accepting new patients at this time -- check back after the start of the new year. Regarding insurance: we are a direct primary care clinic focused on providing transparently priced, affordable primary care. To achieve this aim, we do not bill insurance companies at all and care for our patients via a flat, fixed monthly payment. Taking the middlemen out of the relationship allows us to better care for our patients and to be more responsive to their needs. Additionally, we can use our leverage as a health care entity to negotiate for lower drug, lab, radiology, and specialist pricing. In a sense, people can have any type of insurance or none at all! It doesn't matter to us one way or another. Allison Edwards, MD
We do not!
Yes! All of our clinicians can care for diabetes. We offer the A1c for $10 for members; $60 for non-members. For more on pricing and how things work, check out https://www.kansascitydirectprimarycare.com/services-fees/ -- or give us a call during business hours to chat at 913-730-0331!
They dont take insurance. Its a monthly rate with a sign up fee to process the paperwork. There is no copay or limit to monthly appointments.
