Truly love this place. Such a great experience. Went for my husband's 30th birthday and now that we have a kid we took him and both occasions were so fun. Cute gift shop. Neat and informative museum. Two different model train exhibits. Also have to give a shout out to how nice the restrooms are.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! AMAZING PEOPLE!! Going into this it was originally set up for my son who is a train finatic. My mom, sister, her two kids as well as my two all were unaware how much we would enjoy the train ride. The museum where you purchase tickets is really neat with many trinkets to buy and look at. On the other side of the building is literally a plethora of neat nostalgic items from olden day train rides and several opportunities to get hands-on with train items. I must admit none of us were expecting the rest to unfold the way it did. Kinda hard to believe it could get much better for my son(Kobe). We boarded the train, many people(volunteers) were dressed up to complete the civil war theme. As soon as we pulled away from the museum Kobe was being approached by dressed up volunteers. He found it to be so cool they noticed him and were talking to him. There's much to look at as the conductor tells about the scenary. At the end of the tracks there's an opportunity to even get off, look around and take pictures with the conductor. The way back the train was stopped again, guests given the chance to get off and watch a re enactment. It was quite an experience to see! After boarding and rolling again Kobe, my niece and daughter were asked if they'd like to come see where the conductor sets and even allowed to blow the whistle. From start to finish this will be a day my son remembers and talks about for years to come. Thank you ALL who came out that day, interacted with Kobe, gave opportunities he had only dreamed about and made his time here magical! The train ride was about two hours long. You totally get your money's worth with this. On a side note, service animals are welcome in the coach cars only.

We had a wonderful time riding the train! Very friendly staff! We enjoyed the scenery and learned a lot about the region. We rode 1st class which was well worth the price! Comfortable seats and a warm ride! …

Worth seeing even if you miss the train ride. Some rail coaches and freight cars were refurbished while others remained in poor condition. Lots of information per car.

Depends on if you want the "coach" ride experience with an open car with no windows it would be $14. Nice ride in "first class" will net you air conditioning in a closed car with reclining seats for $19.
We took snacks for the ride and ate after. It's a great time. It was a civil war robbery mystery and reenactment when we went. Highly recommended.

Hello. Thanks for your question. Our regular prices are $14 for adults and $12 for children 2-12 in coach and $19 for adults and $17 for children in our air conditioned first class coaches or on our new open air car. This weekend, June 1 & 2 is a special event for which prices are increased $3 each. This weekend is our Civil War weekend. We have volunteers who dress in uniform, fire cannons, and ride the train with the passengers. On the way back from the river they disembark and perform a short program in honor of the soldiers who served in that conflict. More information is available on our website www.bluegrassrailroad.com
Both first class cars have a.c., coach has ceiling fans and open windows! Come see us!!!
Per our conversation today, I have rescheduled your tickets for the 2 pm train on the 15th.
Good morning! Train is usually on Saturday and Sunday. Prices are on their website.
Pumpkins are for sale at the Life Adventure Pumpkin patch. $3 for small and $7 for large
We paid for in advance, you can pay the day you go there but just remember that there is limited seats so if you don't pay in advance you may not get a seat especially during the tourist season
Our coach service is handicap and wheel chair accessible. We have a paved ramp from the paved parking lot to the station and boarding area. Over size wheelchairs may not fit but regular size chairs will pass through the doorway. Our first class cars are handicap but not wheel chair accessible. These cars built in the 1930's have narrow hallways that will not permit passage of a wheelchair.
