It has been a long time since I have been to Applebee's. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. The customer service was exceptional (Courtney). He did incredible even short staffed. Thank you for the (+) experience.

Applebee's never seems to be completely clean. The carpeting is sad and a bit smelly. The booths need thorough scrubbing. I believe sincerely that a cleaning company that specialized in restaurant cleaning could get tons of work from places like Applebee's, Bob Evans and Frischs, to name a few. The host saw me struggling to open the door (I rely on a cane and it was windy), and never offered help or to hold the door. That seemed poor manners. Food was mediocre. The chicken is pumped full of something...tenderizer?...so it didn't really taste like chicken. The mashed potatoes had good flavor, but when they were served, looked like someone had smashed them down with a hand. Not appetizing. The salad had something gritty in it. Pushed it away...no idea what it was. The server, while a bit slow checking on us, and did not offer a beverage refill, was fabulously personable and we really enjoyed talking to him. I believe his name was Jacob.
