Walk in for "crisis services" are falsely offered. Walkin is actually just an intake. You will be told/scheduled to "wait a month or more for medication and counseling services". I can't do that. This is not crisis or urgent care. If you want or need true crisis services, go to Rediscover Behavioral Urgent Care. There you will see several people and will receive actual urgent crisis care.

As a long time client of CMHS, I can honestly say it has been hit or miss as to the efficacy of the services it provides. I am scared for the future of it and its prospective clients. I'm sure they are siphoning off of clients insurance and the state funding they recieve only for the CEO's, President, etc., to get rich at the expense of its reputation, lower level employment, and more importantly, its clients. I'm scared were my mental health to decompensate. If you are lucky (or as i would put it) or blessed enough to recieve at least adequate care as a new or existing client, then by all means leave a positive review. Its not just about being kind to its employees and business that seemingly doesnt care, its about the importance of holding a health organization accountable for the quality level of the health services it provides.

I made an appointment to see a psychiatrist and they couldn't see me for 5 weeks but put me on a cancellation list. I got a cancellation appointment about 2 weeks sooner and they cancelled my other appointment. They called me the morning of the newer appointment to tell me Dr. Brooks would not be in and that I had to reschedule for another 5 weeks out. This is absolutely abhorrent way to manage people who are in need and possibly in crisis. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any doctor or medical facility.

Adjusted and took away the medication that was helping me, then refused to listen or explain to me why it was even done. Simply just raised the current dosage of the remaining meds and hoped for the best. Therapist was at least trying his best to help and sympathized with the medication issue, so there’s that.

No it's not it's located off 23 down past the Independence utilities
If the doc has an available appt that day you will get help that day. If not it’s usually within the next couple of days. Their goal is to get you medicated ASAP and off the rest
The walk in appointments that we have are for intakes for community members who want to begin receiving services. We also have our crisis team available for walk in appointments during regular business hours if a person is having a mental health crisis and needs to see someone immediately.
No because you need to do a UA
We have case managers who can help.
ID, social security card, proof of residence. Last time I heard they were only accepting people without insurance or on state insurance. Wishing you the best.
The reason they ask about legal issues is so they can assist the patient with clean screens. They don’t care about your “legal issues”, but they do care enough to offer your drug screens to whom ever made need them (cps, drug court, etc). It’s to assist you and help you, it’s not the staff trying to be lawyers. They genuinely care
No
Family and Youth Service can provide grief counseling and also services for emotional and behavioral health for children with disiplinary issues
Do they?

I would recommend KC Care Clinic or Rediscover(Lee's Summit)...my experience with Comprehensive wasn't positive to say the least
