OUTRAGOUS!! I first hit up donut bar In downtown San Diego. I had no clue what I was in for! It was her pick and we took our little ones to wait in line for about 45 mins in the drizzling gloomy weather. We figured donuts were worth the wait!! As we got closer to the entrance we heard that the flavors our kiddos were wanting had sold out. But again, bad donuts don’t exist here so we pushed on. We got to the glass cases, and since they were running low on most and getting close to closing, they offered us a 1/2 dozen at a special rate. We went for it. They even had chocolate milk on tap. Did we get it? You bet your donut holes we did!! We inhaled those donuts. Well, maybe not actually since they were huge and we got one that looked like a hamburger which took over an hour to consume, but they were delicious!! After that experience, we were hooked. When we saw that DB was coming to Temecula area we immediately made plans to go, often…. The location is a destination for us, still about 20mins from home. But worth it every single time. My kiddos always pick the heavily crafted and iced donuts, the designs rotate with holidays but it can range from burgers, to beachy mermaids to unicorns. I like to try the vegan or gluten free options, cake donuts. I know, mom move. We have ordered the Mimosa flight more than once, and might try a porter next time. I usually prefer my donuts with coffee so that is my route on a typical trip. Pack a bag, and make the journey to Donut Bar. #nobaddonuts should be their new motto. Pro Tip: go close to closing time and you might get a special treat!
