One star because- dirty bathrooms and common areas. Rude clerks and other staff. Extremely long wait times to be seen. Incredibly undersized parking lot. Awful traffic in surrounding area (not the VA's fault but contributes). Just an awful experience all around. The attitute of the employees is not to help and they have so few actual medical staff- its a really bad situation. The word "zoo" has been used to describe this "hospital" many times. Its an apt term for this place. An absolute zoo. Build a proper parking gargae. Expand the hospital- build new floor space. Hire the proper amount of staff both medical and support. Require the staff to be courteous to all patients. The respect level from the staff towards veterans is at a zero- very condescending and rude behavior. Awful experience and I avoid this location like the plague.

ABUSE @ HIGHEST LEVELS! Dr ALBASHA and 4 pain clinic providers, medical director, and CEO are all being leagally accused of neglecting the care of a poor homeless several disabilities veteran of a foreign war. They think letting veterans die alone and in pain is OK. I have the emails to prove it.
Someone please investigate this place from top down!!!!!
What is the bright line ? There's a shuttle from the VA in Tamarack. It leaves at 7 15 & 8:15 it goes down to the Miami VA

If you are traveling and have lost your medications stop by the Miami VA and register... the Emergency Room doctors will then be able to look up your prescribed medications from your local VA hospital...

There are no transportation services provided by the VA to veterans between the airport and the VA unless he is coming for medical services and if that's the case then the doctor who is seeing him would have to make a request to the VA for that transportation. I don't know if that's even possible but if it were that would be the case. If he is coming to the hospital from the airport the best and easiest way would be for him to take the metro rail to the Civic Center station which is right in front of the VA

If you are service-connected, a former POW, or receiving title 38 benefits then you are entitled to a pair, at no charge, every year. If you do not fit any of the above criteria then you can still have it filled at the VA and pay for them yourself.
The Miami VA can assist you with the process, go see the Eligibility department You can also visit Archives.gov and request it there... Hooah! The process takes 4-6 weeks

Depending on the time of day, most veterans are seen within 15 minutes or less of registering at the ER desk...

The best way I know of, is ask your VA Assigned Doctor or Team... If you aren't registered at the Miami VA, then you'll have to go through thr Personnel Office!
I didn't think they give that information out, except to State, Federal or Insurance Agencies that require it!
But you need to ask at the 2nd Floor Administration Offices...

Yes, you have to be admitted through the ER/Admission Team. And it can be started any day! Hours sre "normal business hours", but if you arrive does none business hours, they will allow you to wait in ER until someone arrives to take you to Detox Unit...
Yes, from what I understand, all you have to do is go through Admissions... At Miami VA that's part of the ER... You should be admitted on the same day!
