10 STARS is not enough for this Great Company and Wonderful Owners Joe and Anthony Parisi and their Great Team!!!! We are thankful to have found them as they are an integral part of our business success and growth! I do not typically write reviews however i felt compelled to write one for Plastimold Products. I have known the team at Plastimold since 2011, and at the time we were working with 4 other injection molding companies. We started slowly with Plastimold, with 3 molds and now they have over 40 of our molds. They injection mold numerous materials including Noryl, Polypro, Hips, and also mold inserted complex metal parts. Over the last 9 years they have helped us redesign parts for cost savings, including rapid prototyping, machined prototypes, mold design and mold manufacturing. Over the last 5 years Plastimold has grown tremendously, tripling the amount of machines and space - however with all this growth they have not lost their Personal Touch - they care about their customers - they are an integral part of our business and our success. I consider it an honor to work with Plastimold - and i am so proud of what they have accomplished and so thankful for the help they have given to us. They are an EXCEPTIONAL supplier and we Highly Recommend them to any business that needs a responsive, competitive and resourceful injection molding company. Please feel free to contact me if you need any additional information or have any questions about Plastimold. David Jablow, President and CEO Tube Technology Inc.

Hello, I hope all are as safe as can be during this time of uncertainty 03/28/2020 I thought, “what would be the best thing for me to do for my favorite companies that I work with?” I figured why not go to their review site and post my experiences thus far with them; so here I am. I contacted Plastimold about producing my patent pending product I had designed and for which I had made a working prototype. Ideally, I wanted/needed 3D modeling, electronics development and integration, production, warehousing, packing and shipping all on a global scale. I knew my list was extensive, but as I always say, “start where you want to be” I found Plastimold online by searching companies in my area and luckily, they were at the top of the list. I know this is random but I had to start somewhere. From the very first time I spoke with Joe Parisi I was put at ease with his knowledge of the injection molding process but more importantly I was impressed with his demeanor. He was calm and cool while guiding me through the entire process. Their facility (Which I visited after agreeing to hire them) is top shelf and their services from start to finish had my attention after the first call. Although I am still in the process of bringing my product to market, I feel 100% confident in the abilities /capability of Plastimold to produce, warehouse, pull, pack and ship my product globally. Obviously, I like Joe and the Plastimold organization tremendously but in these times in which we find ourselves and, in the times ahead, many of us will need…no demand, that our current products are produced in the USA. Plastimold is an excellent place to start your search. At the very least you will meet an organization that has the knowledge, ability, and the willingness to help you find your way. Take Care and thanks for reading, the best of work to you and your venture, Randall Owner/inventor of eMotostick™

Questions & Answers

Why Draft Angles are required for injection molded parts?

Marcelo Oliveira | Sep 17, 2020
Plastimold Products | Sep 17, 2020

Proper draft angles on all part surfaces are necessary to mold a quality part. Without the correct draft, ejecting the part from the mold will result in drag marks and possible seizure of the mold. Generally, a draft angle greater than 1 degree per side presents no problem for pulling the molded part out of the cavity. Draft angles smaller than 1-degree increase the risk of the part sticking on either the core or cavity of the mold. Although it is possible to mold parts with 0 draft, or even negative draft with the use of side cores (slides), collapsible cores, and lifters, these features add to the complexity and cost of the mold. Surface finishes that require textures also require draft. These angles depend on the amount of texture. Heavier textures to produce rough surfaces can require draft angles of 5-7 degrees.

What information is needed to quote a injection molding project?

Marcelo Oliveira | Sep 17, 2020
Plastimold Products | Sep 17, 2020

You can see all the basic information required by filling out our RFQ form https://www.plastimoldproducts.com/request-a-quote/ . In order to quote an injection molded part we will need information on the part weight, the type of material, how many cavities in the mold, and the quantity to the quoted. If some of this information is not available to you, a 3D CAD model of the part is the easiest way for us to get this information. We use Solidworks, so that would be best, but any .STEP, .IGES, or parasoled file will work. From the model we can determine all the information we need to quote the project.

What are the benefits of manufacturing plastic parts in the USA with your company versus overseas?

Marcelo Oliveira | Sep 17, 2020
Plastimold Products | Sep 17, 2020

Some small companies may feel trapped because they believe manufacturing in the USA isn’t possible. Once they realize that it is possible to manufacture in the United States at costs that are comparable, it’s easy to see the benefits. When working with companies in the US, communication is easy. You have experts at your fingertips. They understand the manufacturing process from start to finish. Finding a company that is a one-stop-shop turnkey manufacturing solution will guide you through the process. Also American manufacturers that are ISO9001 certified are audited twice a year to ensure that quality standards. One of the most beneficial aspects of business is having the right relationships. Feeling comfortable that your manufacturing partner has your best interest in mind will allow you to sleep better at night. If you aren’t prepared to nurture that relationship by meeting with your overseas supplier, it will be very difficult to come to an understanding in times of contention.

How long does it take to build an injection mold?

Marcelo Oliveira | Sep 17, 2020
Plastimold Products | Sep 17, 2020

It depends on how many parts are needed and the complexity of the part geometry. Simple molds can be completed in two weeks or less. The typical lead time is between 4 to 6 weeks, but some complex parts could take two months to design and manufacture the tool.
