As a customer for years with Jim's automotive now Preferred Automotive I've been disheartheartened by the amount of fleet vehicles in your lot. Today I came in for a state/emission excempt sticker and was told that my wiper fluid needed topping off which is not part of the inspection. I let the service advisor know that I myself had done this about five weeks ago I've been experiencing a low tire light for the past few years and have brought my car in only to be told that they couldn't find any leaks. The light would go off after airing up until a cold snap after being checked by preferred automotive. Today I was told that they found a small puncture in my tire which couldn't be plugged. Okay, but they wanted to replace two very Expensive manufacturers tires on the car. Since I only drive my car less than 700 miles a year since retiring. I told them to replace the one tire with a less expensive one and that next year I could replace the other and have them rotated to have the newer tread tires on the front. I was also told about the measurements on my brake calipers, which were within inspection guidelines and I told the service advisor they didn't need to be replaced for the car to pass state inspection. I have over thirty years of experience with mechanics and state inspections being inputted in Penndots on line site in my previous mass transit job and was about to be charged over 700 dollars if I didn't know better. What's going on. I was only charged 300+ dollars. Had I not been savey this would've been a nightmare for me financially. This had been a neighborhood shop but now it seems to cater to fleet equipment.

Always drove by this place but never had a reason to check them out until now. I got to say this place and their workers is very impressive, I'm pleased with the work they did on my car, and will be going back for all my car needs. If a person is in need of a mechanic shop with good work being done, this is the place to check out and everyone of them was sweet and friendly.

My AC went without any warning. Just as it went I saw preferred automotive ac repair. This happened on a Friday. Had to take my suv I'm on a Monday. You know we have had dog days of summer . So no matter the cost I needed the ac fixed. They are located a few blocks from me. Joe was very nice. All the guys were older gentlemen in which I like so they know about cars over the years. They gave me shuttle service to and from my home. My suv was ready that Tuesday. Definitely pleased .

Don’t not take your car here!!!! I repeat do not take your car here they are a money hungry company will over charge you more than your car dealer ship. You bring your car there wit one problem they give it back wit 4 more problems & over charge you for what they did wrong.
