Been sitting in er for over 3 hours. Took other people ahead of my daughter. She is so much pain. They stated waiting for her labs. How long for a pee test. Other facilities have back in 15 min. What wrong with this hospital. I won't be back . Wouldn't bring my dog even here.

ONE π IS GENEROUS. This hospital was my hospital of choice. Until last year. My mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor. As she declined while in a nursing home, they sent her to AVH ER. There we were given deviating news, and chose to put her on hospice. We were limited to one visitor at a time. So they told me they'd put her in a room upstairs that evening where her whole family could come see her. I unfortunately had to go home. The nurse on duty looked me in the eyes as though we'd been friends for years and assured me "trust me" she said my mom would be in good hands. The next morning I got there. She was still on that cold hard bed ..... No catheter. Never changed. Like they heard hospice and treated her like a slab of meat. As a social worker was trying to find her a hospice to send her to as if she had that choice. As if my mom had no one to help make decisions. I knew where I wanted her, but had decided to leave her there because they SAID SHE'D BE TAKEN CARE OF and she'd have a private room. Her back side was open and raw. When hospice took her in she was soaked. She was treated with great disrespect. I will never ever forgive for that.

One star it being generous. My husband was taken by ambulance to the ER following a motor vehicle accident. Nurse put a BP cuff and monitor on him when he arrived but he laid there 45 minutes to an hour in severe pain before anyone checked him. Would not recommend this emergency department.

Hi I am very appreciative and very very thankful for everything I experienced at Allegheny valley hospital. I don't understand or do I believe that any one would feel any different if you do then it's your fault , not the hospital . They all have there jobs to do and they do it well .I thank you Allegheny valley each and everyone of you from the waiting room to the wonderful Doctors and nurse's and staff. ,I did not see or hear one bad look or remark about me or any patients ( like I have at a other hospital ) . My room was 226 for 4 days and the nurse's on that floor are the top of the crop in my book , thank you all. Claudette Shearer
