The library is very unfriendly to families and children and kids. Some of the younger librarians are very kind and helpful but most of the older women are so rude and standoffish time and time again. For example, the children's section had a scavenger hunt and they advertise that if you complete the kids get a prize. Kids take these sorts of things very seriously and mine completed the challenge. When we turned in the scavenger hunt, the older woman who was working the front desk acted like we should have never been bothering her and didn’t even address my kids. She was so rude when it could have been such an enjoyable experience for everyone. What is the point of having activities for kids if you aren’t remotely friendly to families? The library is in such a great location and it is a shame that it cannot be more of an enjoyable outing for families with children.

Yes they do have computers

No ,you do not need a mask to go inside the library. Some of them wear them though.

Yes we have a young adult/teen section here at the library, you can come in and browse what we have here in Surfside or see our county wide collection at bit.ly/HCMLYAF – if you find something in our online catalog you can place a hold on it with your library card and pick it up here at Surfside.
Hi Amy, we do not sell State Park Passes, but you can borrow one (for free) for 14 days with a library card. Reserve one at bit.ly/HCMLParkPass.
