I have watched my water usage increase over the last couple of months. I live by myself. I am gone from house 40-60 hrs a week. I chase leaks for a living. So for a week I took pictures of the meter in the morning and compared when I got home. The meter has not moved. So there are no leaks. Well the water department wants to send me toilet test strips because I guess they think the toilets are running. They just couldn't grasp the concept that the meter was not running all day.

The water is leaking from the "site" where the city was digging 3 weeks ago...significant amounts of water fills the street day and night... I cannot imagine how many city employees just pass it by.... the city and / or their not so wonderful and rude contractors from Kinston have cut my internet cord 3 times is 3 months r/t whatever the issue is out there. Havelock water and sewer are not responsible for their impact on the environment... just look into the amounts of raw sewage leaked into Neuse River.

Customer service line is awful. I just need to get my account set up and water turned on for my house and I’m always put on hold for an insane amount of time. There doesn’t seem to be anyone that works the other end of the phone line. If, for some reason, that representative isn’t working that day or if they have specific hours of operation, then that needs to be addressed at the beginning of the automated menu, which is also vague.

Do not pass Go, pay hundreds of dollars… that’s the ongoing story with this Monopoly. At least the employees are nice… as long as you don’t question the accuracy of the meter or billing.
