THE AWESOME:- Structured class format w/ a great balance of strength, cardio & high intensity interval training for results I couldn't achieve on my own. Metrics displayed during class & tracked daily/weekly/mthly/yearly.-- Benchmark exercises for measuring progress- Wide variety of class times including 5am M-F. - Great coaching and administrative staff. *Only fitness regimen I've enthusiastically participated in this long (> 5yrs).. Have no doubt these workouts have been significant in improving annual physical labs. THE CHALLENGING - Expensive at $169/month (premier plan) - loyal members deserve a discounted rate i.e. charter rate of $149. As great as OTF is, often debate pursuing cheaper options. Promotional $ goes toward gaining new members vs maintaining loyal long time members. - referred a friend who became a member at 1412 Barclay Point Wilmington from their grand opening. This friend gave my name as her referral and was told my rate would decrease to the $149 charter rate. She brought it up several times but never happened... concluded due to my membership at a different location.

Like a lot of people, I tried gyms like Planet Fitness and O2 with middling results. I got into OrangeTheory a couple years ago and it's truly been a great experience. The Mayfaire studio has a wonderful, friendly staff as well as hands-on coaches who aren't afraid to help when I'm struggling to figure out an exercise (which is often lol). Give them a try, I highly recommend it!

If you’ve already been doing Orangetheory and become pregnant, check with your doctor first. Our heart rate monitoring is a perfect way to keep an eye on your intensity as you progress through your pregnancy. If you are a few months into your pregnancy and haven’t been doing any sort of fitness training, wait until after you have your baby and we can help get you back into shape!
Absolutely. Our coaches are trained to provide options for each exercise on the floor, in addition to offering a low-impact bike and strider alternative in place of the treadmill for lower body injuries or orthopedic restrictions.
Of course. Orangetheory is geared toward ALL levels of fitness and everyone is free and encouraged to go at their own pace. We recommend trying a free introductory workout, then discussing any thoughts or questions you may have regarding your fitness goals, with your coach.
Splat Points indicate minutes spent in the orange and red zones. Aim for 12 or more Splat Points per class.
Orangetheory is 5 Zone heart rate based interval training using specifically designed and timed interval training blocks. During a workout, members focus on Zones 3, 4 and 5. The workouts are designed to produce 12 minutes or more in Zones 4 & 5 combined (to achieve the after burn) during the treadmill training portion of the workout.
We’ll ask that you arrive no more than 15 minutes before workout and avoid congregating in the lobby.

Our workout room has a variety of equipment including treadmills (bikes and striders as alternatives), WaterRowers, and floor equipment including dumbbells, benches, TRX suspension trainers, medicine balls, BOSU trainers and AB Dollys.
Orangetheory is a 1-hour, full body workout, focused on training to build endurance, strength and power. We use heart rate-based interval training, which burns more calories post-workout than traditional exercise. When wearing our heart rate monitors, your real-time results are displayed on large screens throughout the studio. Intensity is based on your individual heart rate zones, making the workout effective for all fitness levels. To top it off, our fitness coaches lead the workout to prevent you from overtraining or undertraining.
OTbeat™ is our exclusive heart rate monitoring technology. Members have the unique experience of seeing real-time data during their workout, enabling them to push themselves to new limits. After class, they can then monitor their improvements through emailed results and by using the Orangetheory Fitness app.
