Loved this remote beach access for a morning walk.

The long beach stretches south of the mouth of the Mad River. The surf area tends to be slightly sloped but deep, long, wide, with frequently breaking waves. Extensive dunes back the beach. Although it's a 3 mile walk from the parking lot to the River mouth, it's a 3 minute walk to the Mad River at the boat launch. The parking lot is unpaved, and small. There is a gate that locks shortly after sunset. No bathrooms.

No. The rangers close the gate at sundown but you can park for the night at moonstone beach in Trinidad without getting hasselled
