I met up with some friends for brunch this morning in Downtown Clawson. There were 7 diners total. The decor here is nice and clean, somewhat cheery and nothing fancy. The service today was not just slow, but very slow. I ordered the huevos rancheros. When it finally came it was not at all as described with the ingredients on the menu. I made the sever aware and she remade the order. The others had similar issues. I won’t give the gory details.

I’ve been to this restaurant before but it was not Downtown Charlie’s, to my surprise. I decided to give them a try since the location and weather was perfect for a meal on their patio. The hostess was very funny and told me to make myself comfy on the patio. My server was very accommodating and made sure I was taken care of. The three star rating, unfortunately is due to the food. I ordered the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs. The eggs were great but the some of the potatoes were not fully cooked and the corned beef was tough and old. I could tell it was leftover hash and not freshly prepared but overall the meal was seasoned well. Also, a glass of orange juice was $6 which is absurd to me. I didn’t make a big fuss about my meal because again, the customer service was great and that goes a long way for returning clients. I do want to give them another try I just won’t order the hash.

Super fresh! Fast service. No flavor. Paper was left on cheese inside grilled cheese sandwich. I enjoyed the quality of chicken on the chicken and waffles.

Our first time eating here and we will definitely be back! I love eggs Benedict and these were some of the best. My son had the pancakes and they were so so good. The manager / FOH guy was super personable and just so great with our kids. Great food and amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend!
