Wonderful new and used book shop with two floors, a great selection, and a cat! Very large section of local books and works by artists in NOLA. The staff was friendly and the prices were very reasonable. I picked up some Hemingway today, but saw four or five other books that I’ll need to purchase next time I come. This is what bookstores should be (not big box stores) and Blue Cypress fits perfectly in a beautifully eclectic neighborhood.

My favourite bookstore in New Orleans! It has a great, cozy atmosphere, a fantastic selection of new and used books, and displays of books on relevant current events. And of course, a wonderful cat! The staff is so friendly as well. I always look forward to coming here!

Yes the book store will purchase certain books they can use. They have certain hours on the weekdays that you can bring them in. If you have a lot of books I would call ahead to schedule a time best for them to bring them in. They can be bought for either cash or store credit.
We've been safely open to customers by requiring proper masking (mask over both nose and mouth), use of hand sanitizer before browsing, and limits on shop occupancy.

No thank you. We do not deal in comics. There are several good stores that may be helpful like More Fun Comics or Crescent City Comics. Good luck!
