I have not frequented in library in a while. Very helpful & respectful staff. Nice facility. Their internet is pretty decent. Great place to print some docs or browse the web.

Beautiful mid-century building, built in 1963 by architects Curtis & Davis as headquarters for the Automotive Life Insurance Company, converted in 2016 into the Mid-City Library. The building's style is reminiscent of Minoru Yamasaki's Pacific Science Center in Seattle from 1962. Note the reflecting pool in front and the ceremonial central entrance plus the covered access ways for cars on both sides of the building.

What a stately yet small library! The staff was very kind and helpful in my research for Louisiana foods and plants. They even offered to order books that aren't normally in stock at this branch. The seed library was well-stocked and beautifully organized in an old card catalogue box and photo album. Flowers are under F. Herbs are under H. Louisiana Native Plants are under L. You can take out 6 packets every 6 months with your Library Card and increase that number when you donate seeds, etc.
