Fantastic evening watching great bands in a beautiful venue
Theatre Geek
So so. Seats are very crowded and place isn't great for ADA accessibility. Staff is very nice, though. Service dog friendly, too.

Beautiful theater..

This building is classic New Orleans and the best for a play or concert.

Thanks. I'm thinking they will be a bit cheaper if I purchased them at the box office.
They use a wooden stick to search ladies purses, and kids bags, for food, drinks, weapons, etc. It takes only a few seconds. Also, if you carry mace on a key chain they will not allow you to bring it into the theater.
A block away
When I went to a show a few weeks ago everyone had to either show a vaccine card or a negative test result. Not sure if it's changed since then though.
Saenger will remain closed until the demolition next door is competed sometime early in 2021. No doubt this legendary entertainment attraction will re-open as soon as it can be arranged.
Yes. There's and E-news letter. Sign up at https://www.saengernola.com/enews-signup
I believe they offer valet. You will most likely have to pay a fair price for it. Try calling the Saenger to be sure
Do you need a ticket for a baby
It truly depends on the production and the schedule of shows.
To be honest, my spouse and I went to see Rent several weeks back, and my spouse is hearing impaired/deaf, and the devices at Saenger are not good, unless you can hear through the headphones with the ear pieces going into your ears like an earmold, they didn't have the kind that connects to the Bluetooth of the new hearing aids, so my spouse made a complaint about the devices at Saenger.
I have seen a few performances there and have never had an issue we've gone to different places to eat and have walked around in the evening so I just make sure I pay to park somewhere or park in a well-lit spot trust your gut pay to park it'll be worth it you'll have a fantastic time the city is a wonderful 👌
Prob. Not but Ministry is playing @ HOB in Houston on a Sunday in late October.....fyi
Yes , Unless your were consuming food or drink.
Good Question 🥺
Very secure. I feel completely safe while there.
We will Rock You, The Color Purple and Dear Evan Hansen have been moved to the Mahalia Jackson Theater
Yes, according to local media you can get your refunds at Mahalia Jackson auditorium Ticketmaster location. You cannot go to Saenger theater for refunds as that area is off limits to the public. Imagine you probably can arrange for refund online if purchased in that manner.
I agree totally with Angela. Orchestra c if you can get them.
The theater has an unusual numbering system. You should be able to verify your seat locations via the theater's website.
They sell snacks. I'm not aware of a restaurant in the theater. They do have a full bar.
I don't think they permit any weapons in the theater.
No
There you go.
They scan the barcode
Left side stage
It's ALWAYS cheaper to get at the box office than Ticketmaster
Everyone needs a ticket no matter the age.
Yes on the Basin Street entrance.
If you're seeing a musical act whose top player is a pianist, and you want to see something besides their head, you would want to find out which side the grand piano's seat is on, so you can try for seats on that side. For musicals with a large chorus that fills the stage in some scenes, it might be possible to be too far left or right to see certain actors well. The principals will generally "hold the middle," and cross left and right at times, so any seat is fine to catch the main content. Aisle seats are convenient for you to reach and leave from, but you will be climbed over or need to get up a lot. The spacing between rows is old school here, and tight. When Diana Krall played the Saenger on June 24, there were rows of folding chairs in front of the fixed seats, which would get you closer, but have no arm rests. The left side of the theater was the best to see her the most, but of course, just being in the room to hear her and her ensemble was fantastic.
My wife and I with two teachers used to chaperone 8th grade students and high school students to many of the venues at the Saenger, we have never had a problem with any of the venues. The venues we saw were all Broadway productions. Content was for all ages. Research the venue you wish to see.
Ton of pay-to-park options nearby. Avoid parking garages if possible, as other theatre-goers will be exiting at the same time. Once was stuck in a line to get out for over an hour after the play let out.
Parking is in front the The Roosevelt hitel 1 block away from the teather
No the sanger theatre has an inside stage
I know that Teresa Caputo is going to be there June 1st and June 2nd.
There's on the same side of Canal Street as the Saenger, across the street towards the interstate, there's parking directly across Canal Street from that parking lot, and you can find a handful of garage parking within a block of the Saenger. If you're worried about security and don't mind paying for hotel valet, you can park at the Ritz and walk to the Saenger from there. Many options.
When looking at the theater from the front, the loading docks & stage door are on the right side.
