Short, easy trails make it great for kids. The covered picnic tables near the lake were a perfect, shady spot to eat lunch. Very peaceful spot. Camp was full and everyone seemed to be having a great time. My daughter enjoyed earning a jr.. Ranger badge here.

Beautiful campground. Very nice cabin setup. Has nice trails and a lake... Conveniently accessible from Greensboro, Brown Summit and Reidsville areas...

Cannot see water from car. Thoma Lex park you can watch the birds and water from the car.
Its been awhile since we've been so hard to say, but the time is right, with all this rain, the bugs are out skimming the water so the fish are eating
A friend of mine caught some early this week but not sure what he was using or where exactly
Yes. Very heavy rainfall has made the river & lakes in the area quite muddy. Ordinarily the lake is like most--just average murky water as noted earlier.
👍😁
Fishing is permitted at the lake located at the 339 conference center drive address. Anyone aged 16 years or older must have a valid fishing license in their possession and follow all applicable NC laws, particularly creel/size limits on fish. This park area is open to the public from 8am-5pm.
No
I do not think so.
No
No swimming
There is no boat launch for river access at this park; from the main office there is still a 0.42 mile hike down to the river. To paddle the Haw River, you may like to use one of the 14 paddles access along the Haw River Paddle Trail. See here: https://www.thehaw.org/paddle-trail/paddle-trail-overview/
It's best to go to NC State Park. Com website select the High River Park and ask them specifically
From the North Carolina State Parks website (https://www.ncparks.gov/park-rules) "Pets are permitted in parks so long as they are on an attended leash no longer than 6 feet and under the constant control of the owner, and on all pedestrian trails. Pets are strictly prohibited from entering any building, with the exception of service animals and authorized search and rescue dogs. Owners may be asked to remove dangerous or noisy pets from the park." This includes cats.
Not sure. I usually stick to the trails around the lake and the one to the mouth of the Haw River. Just enough to stretch the legs and get a second wind for sewing with the group.
