Stay alert. We saw this active nest at the lower observation area on our hike today. It was eye level in the greenery, on the right as you stand facing the falls. See pic. Otherwise, relatively easy, beautiful hike and nice new bridges.

Beautiful park, easy walk in good weather. Some fairly challenging steps towards the bottom for anyone not well balanced. Nice water fall and overlooks.

Definitely easy hike... short, but splendid views.... some routed were closed, but that's okay because the waterfall makes up for that! Any age can do this trail, along with of you have lunch, they have picnic tables for your convenience.

Just hiked it a few days ago; I don't fish, but I didn't see anywhere to do it either.
The trails and parking lot are right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, so they are good.

Easy trail, very scenic, and bring bug spray. It can get a little buggy at times, but very worth it!
No. No fish in this short at times 3ft wide 1/2ft deep stream. It goes under the parkway road and breaks surface for a short run before turning into a lengthy water fall. Recommend you exit Parkway and head for Todd. About 15 mins away. South Fork of the New River Runs Through It
