I'll never do another one of these type of tours again. I went into this with an open mind, knowing it would be a regimented time crunch tour. However it was even worse, the guide who was with us was unprepared, and unprofessional, couldn't even be bothered to have information available until the last two days, by writing the next days schedule on a poster board we had to take pictures of. The bus driver was downright rude, and arrogant. Getting information was a last minute type of thing, since the guide had buddied up with a TA who was leading a large group on the tour. It seemed like information stopped with that group and never got to anyone else. As an example Covid testing was to be done for the whole group in Anchorage, no one outside of the TA's group got the information to download and preregister until we were on the train headed down to Anchorage, where service was spotty at best. This left most of us scrambling to get it done before we arrived. I don't know who chooses the hotels that were used, but they were a small step up from a Holiday Inn. The fend for yourself for meals when you are put up in a hotel that isn't near anything is absurd. This was especially true at the Denali Park Village, where you're basically held hostage (since you're not near anything but that "resort") to over priced food choices of a $22 burger or a $55 buffet, neither of which were good food by any stretch of the imagination. The only part of this tour I can recommend is the train, the only reason this is two stars not zero. The cars were spotless and the staff was helpful and attentive. The food on the train was far better than I would have expected.

Our driver, Andrew, was a supremely careful driver. Very knowledgeable about the area. Very, very pleasant and fun! He predicted we would see Denali...WE DID!

We started our land tour with Premier Tours on 6/29 in Fairbanks, AK and ended with boarding the ship on July 4 in Seward, AK. Our tour guide, Jacob, was excellent. His knowledge of this area of Alaska was what really made the trip a great experience for us. We enjoyed most all of the different stops along the way to our end destination of Steward. We could have done without the wilderness park (last stop) before Anchorage. Thank you Jacob. You are the best!

First off, the tour we were on was absolutely exceptional. Truly a tour that I will never forget. I learned so much and saw things I never thought I'd ever get to see in my lifetime. Secondly, our tour director Carole and driver Dana were absolutely amazing and made the tour one of a kind. For Carole specifically, not only did she provide tons of interesting information during the tour, but she was constantly checking in with all of us to make sure we had everything we needed. More than that, though, she went above and beyond the call of duty to coordinate sending an important part of a medical device to our cruise ship when I left it at one of the hotels along the way. Without her help and the help of the staff back at the corporate office, the remainder of our cruise tour would have been absolutely miserable. I can't thank the entire team enough for everything!

Questions & Answers

I arrive in Anchorage on Sept 6 for a NCL land/ cruise. I am assigned the Anchorage Hilton. Is there transportation from the airport to the hotel?

That depends on if you booked as an independent traveler or with a tour company. Which tour are you booked with?
