While my childhood memories of a nursing home were terifying. And equally terrifying during my tenure as chief engineer of 750 bed home in Boston when i was in my thirties. Now 68 i was sent here for wound care and IV infusions for osteomyalitis. This place claims to have a 3 of 5 rating but thats a joke. The following is my experience. I would give this place 0 stars heres why. Only some staff provide high quality care. My IV infusions did not always occur and staff often could not or would not explain. On one ocassion an agency nurse attempted to give my highly toxic infusion to my roommate. The food here is woefully inadaquate. I feed my dogs better food. The only reason that you eat it is due to humger. I lost 20 pounds in my first 2 weeks here. 3 days ago i demanded to be discharged because i fear for my safety. I can get the infusions and wound care outpatient. It was at this point it became obvious that this place is administating this facility in a crooked criminal manner.

Trash, do not send your grandparents hear they treat my grandmother like trash they should be ashamed of the management and also there employees.

Staff are nice facilities are clean food is good Joe the administrative head is very fair and attentive over all its a good place. Although they are experiencing staffing issues they are using traveling Agency Nurses and they just can't be relied

My Sister had a replacement Knee surgery at West Marion Hospital and then sent to rehab at Avante Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation today. Transport dropped her off today just a little after noon and she was placed in room 312 bed B. That was it .... other than a staff member that came to sweep the floor the room had never been cleaned. She received her last pain medication an hour before leaving the Hospital. I got a call from her in tears. No pain medications , no staff and when I called was told the nurse was making her medication rounds. Shortly there after I learned that the morning nurse never bothered to log any information in regarding Estelle's medications. NOTHING . My sister now in tears and her knee was so badly swollen because they hadn't even bothered to fill and hook up her ICE cooling machine for her knee that she was ready to call 911 and go back to the ER. LYNN that answers the 732-0042 line couldn't get ahold of anyone the first time I called but then transfered me to another party who "HUNG UP ON ME" . I called LYNN back and she said she would try to get the nurse on duty and call me back. SHE DID but said that no medication had been logged in for my sister and she wasn't able to get ahold of the nurse. ---- At that Point Estelle said to please just come and get her. --- If you have a loved one --- Don't consider this place and inform your doctors and insurance companies also. As she exited the facility , they had the Chief person directly below the Director tried to convince her to stay . Claimed their establishment was 5 star. That might have been true when it opened years ago but the evening meal wasn't even fit to feed a dog.
