Orchard Lake Nature Sanctuary

Though it is smaller, and tucked close to main roads, this nature sanctuary provides a pleasant and peaceful escape from the city. Take the time to walk around the entire sanctuary, enjoying a distanced view of Orchard Lake and a up close and personal encounter with the Upper Straits Lake. You can walk directly down to the dock and get in the water even. The water is crystal clear and refreshing on a hot summer day. Plus, a variety of animals, such as squirrels, chipmunks, birds, fish, and more can be admired theoughout. Other than the homes practically sitting on top of the paths that go around the swamp area, this nature sanctuary is a beauty to behold.

Fantastic trail with beautiful sights and wildlife. Bring your bug spray because it's pretty buggy, though.

Nice short trails, pretty views. Saw a whole bunch of chipmunks and possibly a ground hog. Had a nice time!
