Questions & Answers

Is this restaurant still open? The website (and menu) are gone.

yes

Hello back again!!! I was wondering about the main vegetarian meals. Do they have any dairy or eggs in them? Are they all vegan or could be made vegan? Is there fish sauce in them (can I request it out)? Can I ask for no eggs? Thanks!!!

If they're listed as vegetarian, then they may not be vegan...should probably call them with your concerns...

Dominic QWEA do you work there?

Yes ma'am. Only part time and mainly delivery at this point. I've been with the King Yen for many years.

Sorry for all the questions but what noodles would not be vegan and what are vegan? My apologies I'm just really excited and curious!!! 😊

It's no problem! The noodles for lo mein are actually 'egg noodles' which you can guess is made with egg! (Just confirmed with a cook) However, our chow Mei fun is a angel-hair rice noodle (also gluten free)

Ooo also are your scallion pancakes vegan? What's in them?

Mainly flour and scallion (and spices like salt), King Yen uses vegetable oil as well.

So does your Moo Shu pancakes contain any dairy or eggs in them? What about the veggie rolls as far as the wrapping and sauce go? Yay I'm excited from all the options though!!!

Nope, the pancakes themselves do not, but I believe the dish itself does. (You could always request it out) As for the rolls though, they aren't made from egg, however to get the wrapping to stick properly, they are dipped in egg.

Yes!!! However I'm a vegan so it's different...meaning no eggs, no honey, no meat, no dairy, and no animal byproducts. I was wondering about your noodles and things like veggie chow mein/suey...is that vegan? Are your sauces with the tofu vegan? TY!

When it comes to Vegan options, King Yen is much more limited. The vegetarian chow mein and chop suey are vegan. (Neither of those are noodle dishes by the way, the Lo Mein and Chow Mei Fun are) You can also request things without egg just by requesting it over the phone. They'll tell you if it's possible or not.

You guys seem to have a ton of vegetarian options which makes me very happy but out of those which are vegan or can be made vegan? Are your veggie moo shoo pancakes vegan? Can they be veganized? Thanks for the help!!!

Almost anything can be made Vegetarian! Things like egg rolls, or spring rolls are pre-rolled, so we can't take any of ingredients out of them, but everything else you can request the absence of meat. Our Moo Shu pancakes are flour-based.
