Over the phone customer service was terrible they kept transferring me to the same people back and forth, they couldn't fix my issue with my card because they didn't know how or just wanted someone else to do it. Had to go to the bank to get a new debit card. Also they don't do currency exchanges which is annoying.

The associates/employees need training and more training. I think the company's employee turnover rate is so high that most associates are new at the job. So their performance is lackluster. My credit score went down because one employee did not do their job right. I have been with DCU for several years and the only reason I'm still with them is because of the multiple loans I have with DCU. Once I pay them off or transfer them elsewhere I'll will run out of DCU like there's a fire....Train and retain your employees.

You need to open an account first with credit union and then get the direct deposit paperwork from your employer and submit it to the bank

Usually a majority of banks require you to open up an account with them, so that you can cash in the check. For DCU, you may cash in your check at the counter desk as long as the check owner has an account and funds to be able to cash that check. (You) who's trying to cash the check maybe required to provide your I.D.'s....drivers'lincense, national I.D, passport, in order to get those funds to you. Otherwise it would be best if you call the bank directly during office hours and ask them questions.
