It is so sad to see how bad conditions have become at this 72nd St Safeway store. I know others might find it hard to believe, but this store used to be a very nice and safe place to shop. I remember when it was newly remodeled, clean, and well stocked. Customer service was important. Employees were helpful .. and a dress code was enforced. Unfortunately none of the above is true today. I could go on and on about the deplorable conditions, empty shelves, dirty fixtures, long lines, and uncaring employees, and scary parking lot. Since this store is located in Tacoma's east side, this once loved store is dying a slow death from neglect by the corporation who owns it. Shame on them.

EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF.. My mother was in line waiting to use the coinstar but unfortunately it started to malfunction so she waited until an employee came and started to fix it. While she was waiting for it to be fixed since she thought it wouldn't take that long, the employee started berating her and telling her "what do you want can't you see it's not working. go away". Basically yelling at her.. I wasn't there when it all went down. since i was getting some snacks. But that made me VERY angry. Nobody deserves to be treated that way especially when they are minding their own business/not bothering anybody .If this is how you treat your customers then we won't be coming back at all.

I went to the gas station. All was clean and not too busy. Attendant was very nice. Gas was expensive!! Lol! Not their fault, just sayin. I had over a 1/4 of a tank and it cost me over $70 to fill it up. Ouch! Safeway gas is less expensive than other places and I get better performance out of it than I do with Costco gas. Plus if you shop in the store you get gas points to use at the pumps! 👍🏼

I like that Safeway but there's a lot that they don't carry that the bigger Safeway's do. I agree with one of the reviews I think there is at least one cashier female that could smile sometimes she's acts like your bothering her bothering …We appreciate your comments, Deborah.
