Finally got to the Buttonwood! What an experience! The Buttonwood is such an impressive venue. Went to see the Sarah Hanahan Jazz quartet show last night and the band blew me away. From the first note to the last...Sarah, Miki Yamanaka, Jonathan Barber, and Barry Stephenson really kept it going! They are so incredibly talented! I felt as though I was on a musical ride!!!! I really hope they come back!!! Now, I can't wait to see who is playing at the Buttonwood next!! As for the venue itself, as you walk in you dont know where to look. They have art shows, so there is art everywhere. So much talent!!! So many things to look at! I love how cozy and intimate the place is. You can really feel the history of the Buttonwood as you walk up to the building. The overall vibe is so positive and it is very meaningful to see the volunteers and the executive director, Anne-Marie McEwen so proud to be a part of this historical gem on main. So much love in this space! The Buttonwood is the heart of Middletown. ❤🎼 If you have not been, YOU MUST SEE A SHOW! By the way, if you like Coconut Macaroons, make sure to get some!!!! 😋

Small and cozy, with wooden floors. It has paintings and CDs of local musicians on display and for sale. For the blue grass band event that I attended, they sold a mixture of bottled drinks from a basket (with and without alcohol) as well as wine and coffee, plus chips and cookies. You could not eat in the room where the band performed, but you could sit, eat and talk in the room where the snacks were sold. There were also used board games that you could play in this room as well.
