It is absolutely DISGUSTING how you allow sick patients to sit in your ER waiting room for 10-12 hours! The waiting room tonight was a horrible experience and everyone was just left there fending for themselves. Rude ER Technicians that give you an attitude when you ask a simple question. One older woman actually fell in the bathroom and hurt herself & no one even took her back to have a Doctor check her out. Just left her waiting 12 hours in the lobby of the ER! Unacceptable how people are treated! Do BETTER! Maybe read some of your reviews you have because they’re all terrible! Stop wasting your money trying to make Vassar look like the Ritz Carlton and hire more staff! Or a better system for the 12 hour leave you for dead waiting room!!

I was brought to the ER last night by ambulance after I’d called 911. I’d taken too big a gulp of scalding tea and had choked and had chest pain and trouble breathing. After I was assessed. I was put in this huge waiting area with no medical personnel!! There were patients not wearing masks! I waited at least an hour. It was only when I decided to leave that I was seen by a PA. I have no complaints about the personnel, they were nice, but if I can help it, I will NOT use this place again.

HORRIBLE HOSPITAL. If you are in emergent pain, DO NOT GO HERE. The wait time is approximately 5-10 hours, no matter how much pain you are in. I am 38 weeks pregnant, was having contractions in the ER lobby, in severe pain, and they had me waiting 5 hours. My fiance and I decided leaving before we were seen because the pain got worse as the hours progressed. AND GUESS WHAT? The nurses did not care! No sympathy. The triage nurse kept taking in stable after stable patient before us and it was just an excruciating experience. The security guard also said that if we go to labor and delivery without the ER'S approval, we would be breaking a law.. I would not recommend this hospital to my worst enemy.

Now I can see why most everyone overwhelmingly told me to go to Vassar. The place is absolutely gorgeous first of all. It’s bright and clean. I was in and out including minor surgery within 4 hours. The staff was kind. The whole checkin/checkout process went smoothly. I can’t say enough about my experience there.

The hospital does not allow live plants to be delivered to patients during the pandemic. You can send balloons, stuffed animals, candy, etc.
Does the hospital administer High Altitude Simulation. Testing for people on 24/7 oxygen therapy so they can determine safety when traveling on airplane? Or would the Vallhala hospital offer this test?
Call Medicaid and get a list of GI that does. Normally they are able to do that.
