We just happened to see a billboard for Brushy Mtn while on our trip to TN. What a great find! The owner was super nice and informative. The prison tour was creepy and no joke. It's also the place that housed MLKs infamous killer James Earl Ray. After our tour, we did a tasting and it was stronger than most of the other moonshine tastings, but really really good. There's a little place to eat called the Warden's table. My only disappointment was that they didn't offer the cocktails that are on their website- I guess they're just drink recipes. I think if they were offered, it would put this place over the top.

We tried 5 flavors and chose the blackberry moonshine to take home. Cool place and it was very busy. Re-purposing an old prison is just what this historic place needed. Also, I highly recommend touring through the prison and museum.
