PuroClean was recommended by my realtor after the mold remediation company I previously hired refused to finish the job. I had a leak behind my fridge in the kitchen and the whole area, including the living room and the rest of my house, had been damaged and was left in a very poor condition. Brenden was very responsive and eager to assist after I explained to him my terrible situation. He confirmed that the other company had overcharged my insurance for work that they did not do. He was so professional and very easy to talk to. He inspected my house and explained what needed to be done: a completely new mold remediation work! He made sure I hire another company to retest the mold and after they confirmed that mold was still present he and this team took care of the whole work, and very efficiently. When I visited my house it finally looked clean and smelled good. We were in contact almost every day and he made sure I received enough pictures. The key to preventing mold growth is moisture control. There are many ways to achieve this including repairing leaks in your home—from walls, roof, gutters, plumbing pipes, etc., keeping indoor humidity at about 30-50%, ventilating appliances that generate moisture, getting your HVAC system inspected annually, cleaning gutters, and using materials such as mold-resistant paint.
Fires are mainly caused from dried leaves, faulty electrical wiring or equipment, unattended stoves and ovens, unattended candles, children playing with fire, flammable liquids, and careless smoking.
Water from outside the structure is contaminated and should be handled be professionals such as PuroClean. Even if the water was not from outside if it is there for an extended time then many materials will need to be removed because of the increased contamination from long-standing water. Drywall will soften and may fall, especially from ceilings. Carpet, pad and other floor coverings may need to be removed. Every situation is different! For the best, specific advice, please call your local PuroClean as soon as the damage is discovered.
