Tucked away in an unassuming Emeryville neighborhood, Townhouse is a hidden gem that somehow manages to remain unknown to many, despite its longstanding presence in the area. Those of us who are familiar with the quaint establishment tend to love everything about it: The service is friendly and efficient; the seasonal menu is excellent, with something for everyone; there is a fabulous full bar; the ambiance is lovely (and seamlessly carries over to the optional outdoor seating area); great vibe and unique history to boot. Much loved and highly recommended ❤️

What an incredible accidental visit to Townhouse!! We drove into Berkeley for an event which turned out to be a bust. Thankfully we ended up here. Our server Jeny was FANTASTIC. She was so kind and caring towards all of us both generally and in terms of making sure that our food restrictions were taken all set. She helped us set up a heat lamp and kept checking in on us, and particularly was patient towards the 6 year old we had. The manager was also really great! He checked in on everyone and then spent some time chatting with us. What a wonderful experience!

Still, a great mainstay for the local business crowd, great burgers. UPDATE. Still holding it down after 40 years. This place is evidence, just how well you can do if you take the American diner experience and bring it uptown with classy cuisine, and excellent service. Stopped in today in the search of a new and unique drink using tequila and was treated to one called " All the kings men", a concoction of Espilon tequila, a dash report, soda, water and some other stuff, super refreshing and exactly what I needed for the hot afternoon. Not reviewing food here yet, but this bar knows how to make great drinks. I was also treated to a shot of a new tequila called Tres Agaves, a beautifully refined tequila with a smooth finish and a slightly smoky mezcal overtone. I'll be back! Update: Cuban mojito is to die for. Really incredible drink. We also ordered steaks, and seared ahi salad, and blah blah blah but we scarfed it all down before I took picture I promise to take pictures next time before I snarf up everything on the table. Thanks!
