Why don’t they have locations around the country?! Maybe that is a good thing- they maintain good quality and service. Really nice diner! Good quality food, you can tell they use fresh and quality ingredients. Customer service above par, every single visit I experienced happy hosts and hostesses with a simple and friendly demeanor. They have variety of items on their menu for any mood or any taste…will definitely be back. Oh did I say, their coffee is great (although overpriced!)

One of my favorite things on this planet is a good diner with excellent breakfast. One of the things I can’t stand the most is horrible service. This experience tonight was the epitome of horrible service and if I was the owner, I’d be embarrassed. The place is dead, 10 tables with people at them tops. However, it’s a huge staff on duty, I’ve counted 12 different workers out front and I haven’t accounted for anyone in the back. Three servers rolling silverware. Two on their phone. One flirting with a guy at the counter since I’ve been here. Took 10 minutes to get seated and only after I asked if I could seat myself. This wasn’t because it was busy, it definitely wasn’t busy. No one but me waiting for a seat. It was due to no hostess at the front, they had to go find her. The plethora of staff just stare at you rather than provide good service. 25 minutes later I finally got a server to come take my drink order. Didn’t get my drink for another 20 mins. They brought it with my food. Food was ok. I left home, drove 20 minutes one way, specifically to come here and get food. I ended up wasting 2 hrs of my day. I blame management 100% no one is running this ship. I’ve been to another location where it was so full of customers there was a long wait to get inside. The service was phenomenal and food was excellent. This location is the complete opposite experience.

Very disappointed with our experience tonight. Not only did it take us over 45 mins to receive drinks. Which was understandable because there was one waiter serving a large area. But my son, who has a nut allergy, received an item that didn’t indicate on the kids menu that there were nuts!!! Dangerous! Thankful he notice before consuming. This would have been a trip to the ER. I must mention that we frequent Silver Diner, especially for their Gluten Free options. We have also ordered the Gluten Free quinoa pancakes form the kids menu many time at other locations. They have never had nuts inside. My son can’t have nuts! The manager said the pancakes always have nuts. If so, that needs to be written on the kids menu as well as the full Menu. The other food was good and we weren't charged for my sons other order. Hence the two stars. Please see attachment. Edit: he can consume coconut.

From the eclectic, multifaceted menu with flexitarian options to the welcoming, unrefined and cozy ambiance - this Silver Diner location is by far one of my absolute favorite dining places in the area that I can't seem to frequent enough! Every time I visit this location, I get to stimulate my taste buds with something new, as they have a plethora of menu options that would accommodate the carnivorous meat-lovers, sea animal lovers and vegetarians alike! While the customer service experience is typically super exceptional, Sequoia was my server during my most recent visit, who was very informative, provided the best food and drink recommendations, and was SPOT ON with drink refills and table check-ins. If you're looking for a restaurant with a homey feel, southern flair and with good food that warms the heart and feeds the soul, do your taste buds a favor and visit the Silver Diner location in Lanham, MD! You will NOT be disappointed!
