I have the Caremore Breathe Plan and there is vision insurance through EYEMED, which has some name brand places to use the insurance. I just used my insurance at America's Best. The insurance covers the cost of the exam and $100 towards frames.
I have to disagree, if you wear something every day of your life, don't expect to pay 60 bucks. My total was $250ish for two pair that I've gotten many compliments on and I got all the upgrades available. These are name brand glasses, not knockoffs.

No, they don't take Medi-Cal, but if you have IEHP from a different vendor HMO, they might? I can only answer about Medi-Cal.
They are free if you purchase their two pair offers. Exams without the 2 pairs cost $50
