As a former tennis athlete for Boise State years ago, my shoulder has seen a bit of wear and tear. A few years ago, I started experiencing some frustrating shoulder discomfort to the point where I could barely do any of the activities that I usually enjoyed. Even after several months of physical therapy, the discomfort persisted. Several of our friends and acquaintances highly recommended The Shoulder Clinic of Idaho and when I researched them online and saw how experienced and highly regarded the surgeons were there, I knew that’s where I wanted my primary physician to refer me to. Well, my luck didn’t stop there as I was able to get Dr Jared Johnson and his wonderful staff- Jake, PA and nurse, Erica, to take me on this journey to repair my shoulder. Dr Johnson is not only a brilliant surgeon but also one of the most genuinely kind and caring doctors I have ever met. The surgery went great with very little discomfort afterwards. Dr Johnson and Erica checked in with me often post-op and they let me know they were only a phone call away if I needed anything. My recovery has been so much easier and quicker than I could have imagined. I feel blessed to have found Dr Johnson who is anchored by such an amazing team at The Shoulder Clinic. There is a reason why they all have exceptional reviews.

I am grateful to Dr Lynch, Michael, and Caitlyn for their support in my decision to not have reverse shoulder surgery.I came to the Shoulder Clinic with a fracture humerus believing that I needed the surgery. When Dr Lynch told me having surgery was my decision he proceeded to help me understand the pros and cons. When he commented that “if you were my mom I’d tell her no” and along with my family and friends commenting how lucky I was to have a honest doctor who is a surgeon tell me I had a choice I made my decision to forgo surgery and work with a PT. Now, over one year out from rotator cuff surgery, I would like to share my outstanding results. Outstanding because I had a complete tear with involvement of all components of the rotator cuff, and bicep tendon-lots of snags and flaws. I had partial function with a high level of pain for well over a year. I am now a senior who worked in physical therapy for a number of years. I personally, have worked with many post op. rotator cuff patients. I anticipated that my end result would still involve some level of pain at best, following surgery. Truly, my results are above expectation and without pain in all required functions. I traveled from Alaska to Idaho to have Dr. Johnson perform my surgery. I had a total right shoulder replacement. I am so pleased with the entire experience. I am just past the 1 year mark and doing fabulous. Dr. Johnson never rushed me through any of my visits. He answered all my questions and was thorough. His team Jake and Erica are just as wonderful as well as all the staff that I had the pleasure of interacting with. I do have to give a shout out to the staff at the Treasure Valley Hospital where my surgery was performed. The food is to die for. I wanted to stay another day for the food alone.
