I really appreciate the amount of snow they made this year I know it was a ruff snow season. Went on March 21 and they still have spots that are 6-8 ft thick and I think are planning on going until Sunday outlasting Catamount, Mohawk, and a bunch of other mts. Even in Vermont ! Thanks again and see you next season.

Fun ski resort. Friendly staff. Good bunny slopes for beginners to learn on. Fun trails for beginners to progress on. I'm a seasoned boarder and have been to other bigger resorts throughout the years, but really enjoy the smaller resorts like Thunder Ridge to be honest. The only complaint I can say about this place is that there are RECKLESS RIDERS (kids in groups) at times bombing down the trails passing little kids and other beginners with no F*CKS whatsoever. At times, one would fly pass me a few inches away, although there was ample space on the trail. If you are guilty of this....Don't be an ahole. RIDE RESPONSIBLY. If you are flying down a trail, use your brain sometimes and leave ample space for beginners and little kids. I enjoy bombing down trails too, but I slow the hell down when near people, especially little kids This is prevalent at ALL resorts so can't blame Thunder Ridge for it, as it can be difficult to control even with ski patrol. In all, I definitely recommend and will be back.

One hour drive from NYC. Suitable especially for kids and intermediate skiers. Short slopes.

Took my 4 year old for first time skiing. The magic carpet was awesome. The ski instructor (Alexa) was amazing! My daughter really likes skiing now!

Hi Julia. Glad you are thinking of us on your trip! The answer to your question is most likely - no. Traditionally, we stay open until mid-March, weather and skier traffic permitting.

We do not have tubing at this time, only skiing and snowboarding.
Thunder Ridge does NOT have snow tubing. Only Skiing & snowboarding. I do not know why Google routes people who look for tubing to our site.
We no longer have a haunted venue in the fall.
Yes, Can rent a host of different equipment for the day . There is a metro North ticket package that includes rental discounts with your lift tickets. Lessons available too.
