Are there golden ears too perfect to hear my voice directly? No one answering the phones and the last time I tried to contact them I even tried email (yes I check the spam folder) and no there was no reply! Some of us have jobs and can't stop in during your business hours. I thought that was why you had a phone number!

Worst customer service ever. Son bought 1 1/2 id x .25 wall steel tube, he had a 1 1/2 threated tube insert in his hand talking to Rudy at the counter. Rudy ordered/cut all the pieces for 1 1/2 od - they wouldn't take back or even give half credit to my son. Had to spend another 600.00 on more steel. I will NEVER order anything from Modesto Steel again.!!! 10/1/2021

It wasn't what I was expecting but it's still good. I was expecting it to be one of the types of places where you could walk in, look around and grab what you need/want then pay for it; but instead you go into an office where they have small samples of what they have for you to purchase which is ok but not what I had hoped. They've got a pretty good selection and offer 5ft, 10ft, and 20ft lengths. I did have one issue that was partially my fault, I had requested 1"x6"x5' steel flat bar and didn't realize that what they sold me was 1/2"x6"x5' steel flat bar until the employee went to cut the material for me. Luckily that will work fine for my purposes as I'm just practicing welding with it, but it still wasn't what I had requested. From now on I'll be paying more attention to what they are billing me for. If you know exactly what you want this is a good place, but if you aren't sure then I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
