If you go, ask to have Richard be your tour guy. He was so incredibly patient with my 3 year old, I appreciated him so much. Such a knowledgeable tour guide. Beautiful old historic mansion with a gorgeous view of the lake. Richard can fill you in on the family and the tragedy. I wish I had asked more about the granddaughter at the end. So much love and dedication has gone into the restoration it's gorgeous.

This is a wonderful place to take a tour and/ or see great view of Cooperstown lake.

What a lovely way to spend a beautiful afternoon! Getting to know the history of one of the core families of Cooperstown was so interesting

Tour guide was very thorough but did not want to leave script for questions. Such a treasure is the mansion. Really appreciate what the team is doing with restoration!

Yes it's definitely the largest out of all the Vanderbilt house but I also believe it was the largest privately owned home in the United States at 175,000 square feet. The house is only worth about 64 million dollars but it sits on a property right around 2200 Acres with all its hotels outbuildings private residence restaurants the whole Baltimore state is worth right around 300 million. Chump change.lol
