I'm in the area camping at Caesar Creek. Prior to the show I had been outside in 100+ temps all day. When I went inside it felt like my clothes froze to my skin. I had a hard time paying attention to the film I was so damn cold. Anyway the theater had comfortable seats and a fair surround sound given the low admission price.

Yesterday I came to this establishment with my two children and mistakenly thought they opened at noon when they in fact opened at 12:30. We waited outside for close to 25 minutes and a line developed. Two women came from McDonald's through the parking lot and we all realized they were employees. One of them said, "It's not even 12:30 yet". The other let the crowd know that they would be opening the doors shortly. This was around 12:28 pm. Not a big deal and I assumed the one that made the announcement was the manager. I was wrong. The woman that made the snide comment about it not even being 12:30, Ashley, was actually the manager. Once they opened I heard Ashley make another derogatory comment about how "today is going to be like yesterday". A line of about 6-7 families 2 minutes before opening is not a big deal. Nothing to be stressed out about. There are movies people wish to see and honestly, I thought that the movies wanted everyone back. That they want the revenue. I was the first in line and I tried to use my gift card. I was informed their system was down. Ashley then informed me I needed to give another form of payment. Ashley seemed frustrated with me and the line of people overall after asking an employee to restart something (I believe the internet modem). I did not have an attitude when I initially came to the movies but did after so much disrespect and attitude. Ashley sure did manage to try and ruin our time here. I informed Ashley "I'm sorry you don't like working with the public because there's a line. I heard what you said outside". She said, "I was here at 12:30. My staff inside didn't want to deal with the line". I told her it was not the intention but the reception of her commentary. I asked her what her name was and she told me, then proceeded to tell me she was the manager. At this point, a more professional employee stepped in for her because Ashley could not handle me being direct with her. I believe she thought that letting me know her name and title would derail me from letting upper management know what was going on here. To a degree, it did because she was the only management there, so I had no one else I could say anything to. I also assume any message via voicemail or email that I send will conveniently go missing. So, I decided to write a review here about my family's treatment by Ashley. She does not need to be the manager without much better training and more patience. She voiced it loud and clear that she hates her job and loathes the community of Wilmington with her words and behavior. She has to have her employees step in for her because she cannot handle someone being direct with her and holding her accountable for her words and behavior, which were very unnecessary and incredibly rude. I have lived here for 7 years and have never been treated this way for just coming to the movie theater in town as a paying customer and waiting outside for the doors to open. We enjoyed Jurassic Park Dominion. Just wish we had felt like we weren't a nuisance for wanting to see a movie. Ashley and her crew are there for customer service. I have worked retail, food, and hospitality for MANY years. I have had so much abuse happen to me during it from customers. I would NEVER treat someone working in these fields like that unless they have given me reason to call them out on their treatment of the public. Ashley deserved being called out Sunday and she now deserves to be called out in this review.

This movie theatre is a LOT nicer than it used to be. Prices are phenominal and staff is friendly. If they could just stop the annoying teenagers from treating it like a chatroom is would be perfect for a low budget movie spot! It just seems to attract that crowd unfortunately.

***I got the chance to revist the theater for another movie and had a much better viewing experience, cleaner theater and restrooms. I changed my stars ratings from 3 to 4! Keep on improving and we will keep on visiting!*** Ok. I wish the star system was equipped to handle expectations. The staff at this location was kind and super attentive, 5 stars. The theater gets 3 stars. Don't get me wrong, $5.50 for a movie is a bargain and I'm glad we have a movie theater in Wilmington but when you're feet actually stick to the floor during the movie?! On a positive note, when you buy popcorn you get to apply the butter and salt yourself! (...and the Batman was just ok. Dark Knight!)

Yes. Sometimes it's better alone. You don't have to share your popcorn.
Try calling them because their websites only list today and tomorrows showings.
We do not currently offer a military discount, however tickets are only $5.50 all day, every day!
Try calling
I have five children that we take to the movies there and they have combo packages of popcorn with drinks that I think all around 5 to $8. Trust me Wilmington Plaza Theaters won't break the bank on you
If they do, check on Tuesday of every week to see the movies of the week
Not sure about that
