I have been going to this office for about 15 years and have had good work done by a previous dentist who unfortunately went to the VA to offer her great skills and caring character. However, recently I had the worst dental experience of my life and I am a senior citizen who has had many fillings, crowns, and extractions. I went to Dr Josh Souweine for a consultation on a broken tooth and right away he gives only one option, that being the most expensive one unlike the previous dentist. So then he performed the crown procedure and it turned out to be the most painful dentistry of my life. Two weeks plus of pain killers and not being able to sleep, I went back to his office for his assessment of the constant and ongoing pain and he said, "well I can extract the tooth"; which was just crowned for over $1200 ! This is after the fact that I had first asked him about a possible extraction option and to which he replied, "you really don't want to do that". Also, I already had known that a broken tooth can be repaired without expensive crowns which was done previously at this very same office years ago. So now during the actual procedure he dropped his drill on the floor and it stayed there until he returned a little later and said, "well I guess I'll have to wipe that off", - so what happened to re-sterilization ? To make matters worse I had to watch a TV screen of his rotating children pictures including birthing photo's for hours ! What happened to the caring customer comfort ? There had been cable TV the last time I was there. So the severe pain I endured lasted over a month and I wrote Dr Souweine a letter to which he never responded. Residual nagging pain and discomfort continued for about three months total, and having had a crown before without ANY pain by a different dentist, this turned out to be the absolutely worst dental experience of my almost 70 years. I later had another dentist in the area look at Souweine's work and he said that the crowned tooth was spaced improperly and had a big gap; which now traps food every time I eat. ~ My well experienced assessment of this matter is that this is a dentist that's offering the most expensive options for maximum profit and caring only about his own dental comfort when addressing his patients. Needless to say that this will be ending my relationship with this office who's only goal seems to be the fat bottom line. <PS: in case your wondering about my pain tolerance, I had drilling and fillings done years ago without any type dentist pain mitigation methods being employed at all.>

Visiting Skaneateles Dental is like visiting family. All the staff are friendly, relaxed, and quite enjoyable to be around. The Hygienist is professional, sociable, and quickly puts one at rest. The Doctors are efficient, professional, and friendly. The entire office cares about patient concerns for comfort, relaxation (as much as can be expected), and expense. This is my one and only “Go to dental office” for all my needs!
