Prospero's is laid back, multiple levels of a nice variety of books (some vinyl and other items). Owners and staff helpful and community-minded.

Because there is so much inventory coming and going all the time, it can be hard for the owners to pick out specific requests for titles. There are tens of thousands of books. Its usually best to go take a look, the hunt is half the fun. Historical biographies are on the first shelf you see, directly in front of you, when you walk down the stairs to the lower level. It will be on the far side of the display table. If it's not there you might try the American history section, also located on the lower level but to the right of the stairs. It will be the last shelf sticking out from the wall, vintage paperback sci-fi will be to it's left, WWII history to it's right. Books are organized by authors last name. Best of luck!
They have some in, but usually not very much. A few manga and some newer comics. There's a stack sitting on the window sill on the bottom landing for the stairs going up to the top level, but their main selection will be in the "humor" section on the top floor. Head past the kitchenette up there and you'll see a cart full of gardening an horticulture books, on the other side of the cart look to your right and down and you'll see them Best of luck!
They have almost everything, I’m not sure about their horror section specifically. Though it is an amazing bookshop so I think it’s still worth going to. It’s three levels of books so I think they have something for everyone.
Not in Colorado so I really can't answer that.
Yes they do. I'd call ahead with the name and author of book(s) to see if they'd have an interest in buying. Also they they have a website you could look there also.
Yes they buy books. I’m not sure what the percentages look like but if it’s like most other buy back book stores, you’re probably looking at like $2 for new hardbacks and $1 or less for older paperbacks.
I don't believe they do but I'm sure they could refer you to a quality local bookbinder
This is NOT THE BUSINESS'S PAGE. CALL THEM!!!
Atlases are a yes, although I doubt they sell maps of Kansas City. The times I have been there I have never seen any.
They carry a variety of textbooks across differnt genres, personally I've seen language, sociology, art, history, and psychology, but they definently have more in different parts of the store then I usually browse
Absolutely 👍 just bring them in and they will look them over.
Probably not, the children's section was small and mostly castoffs.
You would have to call the store to find that out, might even have to go there in person and if you do, you'll be glad you did
They give excellent pay in credit.... Better than anywhere else in town
Do you have any swaggart commentaries on the Bible
I haven't been there. Google keeps asking me about it. I can tell you that across the street, Nomads is a great place for coffee or cocktails.
They have some comics up stairs but to which ones they have I do not know. Also carry some manga.
I'm just a customer. There is always someone there on the floor where you go in. I would call them. Any time I had a question, the staff was very helpful. If they don't have it, I would check Rainey Day Books. If they don't have something in stock, they are happy to order it for you. They are next to Hen House in Fairway.
